Santa to Visit with Children at Farmer's Market Certified Farmers Market now at EastLake Fridays, 4 - 7 p.m. CHULA VISTA, Calif. The new Farmer's Market at EastLake, which debuted just in time for Thanksgiving this year, will welcome Santa for visits and photos with children December 13 and December 20. Every week new specialty items and food vendors are featured, and this month Santa is the big attraction. The new Certified Farmers Market and Open Air Bazaar at EastLake offers Chula Vista residents a fresh new choice when it comes to shopping for produce and arts and crafts. Held Fridays from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at EastLake Elementary School, 1955 Hillside Dr, the Farmers Market is a unique shopping spot for fresh fruits and vegetables from more than 20 local farmers, as well as arts and crafts from local artisans. Proceeds from the Farmers Market will go to the EastLake Educational Foundation, an organization established by The EastLake Company to raise funds for all the public schools in the community. More than 6,000 farmers work to make agriculture a billion dollar industry in San Diego County. Many of our county's growers operate small family farms, with 65 percent harvesting nine acres or less. They have developed a reputation for quality, high-value specialty crops. Visiting one of the Farmers Markets in San Diego County allows residents to experience agriculture. This Farmers Market is certified by the state, ensuring that the produce is being sold by the grower, is grown in California and meets all California quality standards.
