EastLake Makes its Grand Finale at Tour dElegance CONTACT: Marisa Vallbona, (858) 467-7990 or Natasha Martinez, (619) 421-0127 It is said that fine wine only grows better with age, and the same can be said of EastLake. What started in 1983 as a vision has culminated today into a comprehensively planned and balanced environment of total quality living. Not only do residents live here; they study, work and play here. The sense of community pride and the appeal of EastLake have exceeded everyones expectations. And now its ripe with a smooth finish. One look around, and its easy to see why EastLake has been voted the best new home community seven years running by The San Diego Union-Tribune readers in its annual Readers Poll. Its a beautifully designed community showcasing a variety of architectural styles, breathtaking vistas and the tranquility of the nearby lake and mountains. It features recreational amenities for residents of all ages and activity level, and a location close to major freeways and the border, yet maintains a relaxed, rural back-to-nature atmosphere. There is a clear emphasis on environmental preservation, with homes, restaurants, marketplaces, an office park and U.S. Olympic Training Center all integrated with man-made lakes, areas for play and recreation, and linked by pedestrian and cycling paths. A strong sense of community that brings EastLake residents together is fostered through such events as Cycle EastLake! a cycling event that takes participants on a tour through the regions most picturesque countryside, an annual golf tournament, a weekly Farmers Market and Open Air Bazaar, and other benefit events. These activities and others bring the community together and benefit the EastLake Educational Foundation, an organization established in 1995 by The EastLake Company to raise funds for all the public schools in the community. EastLake was the first master-planned community in the area and has set a standard enjoyed by the families who have been here since the first homes were built in 1986 at EastLake Hills and EastLake Shores, the latter featuring EastLakes first man-made lake and swimming lagoon. Over the years, the residential neighborhoods of EastLake Greens, highlighted by a Ted Robinson-designed 18-hole championship golf course, and EastLake Trails, located adjacent to a 20-acre wetlands preserve , have been added to the community. Homes in the final residential neighborhoods of EastLake Trails North, EastLake Vistas and The Woods are currently under construction and being sold. EastLake also is home to the EastLake Business Center and the U.S. Olympic Training Center, and it boasts five schools, nine neighborhood parks, beautiful lakes and miles of meandering trails perfect for an invigorating run or leisurely stroll. There are a variety of shops and restaurants at EastLake Village Center nearby, and more that will open in 2003 at EastLake Village Marketplace. At EastLake, theres something for everyone, which is what makes living here so appealing. From the excellent home values now being offered with prices ranging from the $200,000s to more than $1 million, to the breathtaking views of mountains, lakes and undeveloped and protected natural surroundings, EastLake is a tranquil place to call home. The Woods, EastLakes premier residential neighborhood, includes The Gates (site of the 2003 Tour dElegance), an exclusive area offering a select number of custom homesites on gated cul-de-sacs, as well as four enclaves of estate-sized single-family homes by renowned builders ColRich by Pulte Homes, Continental/D.R. Horton Homes, K. Hovnanian and Cornerstone Communities. And, of course, the five custom homes featured in the Tour dElegance by builders CDGI, ColRich by Pulte Homes, Cornerstone Communities, Johnson Beucler Communities and Shea Homes. Meticulous attention is being paid to every detail at The Woods. Residents and visitors are welcomed at the entrance by a Venetian bridge custom-crafted by talented artisans. Detailed, handcrafted iron gates mark the entrance to each cul-de-sac of custom homesites in The Gates, and iron street lamps, beveled curbs and etched sidewalks add an artisans touch throughout the neighborhood. Seventy-six-year-old Eucalyptus trees line a second entrance to The Woods, showing the preservation of the original landscape. Finally, the stately clubhouse, inspired by legendary architect Addison Mizner and designed by Doug Mansfield of Laguna Beach, captures the majestic influence of years gone by in every inch of its detail. A private resident club, it includes swimming pools, spa, a fitness room, demonstration kitchen, and formal and informal gathering areas all within a uniquely designed two-story recreation complex. In addition to the clubhouse at The Woods, residents in the newest EastLake neighborhoods of EastLake Trails, EastLake Trails North, EastLake Vistas and The Woods enjoy the use of Creekside Park, the second private homeowners recreation center overlooking the protected Salt Creek Corridor. Creekside features swimming pools, a spa, a spacious patio perfect for entertaining, a kitchen and a multi-purpose hacienda-style community room. A two-acre lake stocked with fish rounds out the private resident facilities at the seven-acre Creekside Park. Located across from Creekside Park is EastLake Vistas, one of the areas most scenic neighborhoods. Bound by the Salt Creek Wetlands Preserve to the west and Otay Lakes to the east, EastLake Vistas offers stunning views all around. It includes single-family and multi-family townhomes priced between the high $200,000s to more than $600,000 offered by ColRich by Pulte Homes, Cornerstone Communities, Fieldstone Communities, Davidson Communities, Greystone Homes, KB Home, RWR Companies, Western Pacific Housing and William Lyon Homes. EastLake Trails North includes two enclaves of single-family detached homes by Cornerstone Communities priced from the high $300,000s. And while EastLake today is a treasure to behold, it would not be where it is now without the quality and dedication demonstrated by the builders who have dotted the EastLake landscape with their work. In addition to the builders already mentioned, the following have played a significant role in the community: Barratt San Diego, Brehm Communities, California Pacific Homes, Century American, Cottage Development, Davidson Communities, Fieldstone Communities, Kaufman & Broad, Lane/Kuhn Pacific Homes, McKellar Homes, Pacific Scene and Shea Homes.
