CHULA VISTA, CALIF. – The 2004 USA Softball Women’s Olympic Team will visit Eastlake Middle School in Chula Vista on Tuesday, September 16 from 2:15-2:45 p.m.

The 18-member team and its three coaches will share their Olympic experiences and outlook for the 2004 Summer Games with the school’s inaugural seventh grade class. Head Coach Mike Candrea will speak on behalf of the team, their journey on the road to Athens, Greece, and USA Softball as they promote sport to the youth of Chula Vista and San Diego.

This event is part of the U.S. Olympic Training Center-Chula Vista’s ongoing partnership with the Eastlake community in recognition of The Eastlake Company’s generous land donation of 150-acres to the United States Olympic Committee.

The 2004 USA Softball Women’s Olympic Team was announced on September 8 after a four-day team selection camp held at the U.S. Olympic Training Center. The team will train at the USOTC-Chula Vista each month until the Olympic Games next August.
