Leviton Building Under Construction at EastLake Business Center II EASTLAKE, Calif. Construction is underway on Levitons new $10 million corporate headquarters in EastLake Business Center II. When completed in spring 2001, the 110,000-square-foot facility will house administrative offices and research and development for Levitons operations in Mexico. The company, which is relocating to EastLake from New York, makes cables, control systems and other components for electronic equipment. It will bring an estimated 250 jobs to the area. The general contractor for the Leviton project is San Diego-based R.G. Petty and the design architect is Lundahl and Associates. EastLake Business Center II is an 88-acre business park catering to corporate headquarters such as Leviton. CB Richard Ellis is handling marketing and sales for the second phase of the business center. EastLake Business Center, which has 203 acres of continuous land, including a seven-acre employee park, with amenities including a recreation and fitness center with softball, soccer, basketball and volleyball areas, restroom and locker facilities, picnic area and a par course. The first phase, now complete, is occupied by UPS, U.S. Post Office, The EastLake Company and others. The center is owned and operated by the EastLake Business Center Owners Association. The business center is part of the award-winning EastLake master-planned community. The project is supported by the City of Chula Vista, which provides incentives to businesses to locate in EastLake Business Park II.
