Neighborhood Schools in EastLake Supported by Educational Foundation

EASTLAKE, Calif. – Neighborhood schools, such as the four in EastLake, are a top priority for many families shopping for a new home.

Within the master-planned community of EastLake in eastern Chula Vista, there are three elementary schools and one high school. These include Arroyo Vista Elementary, Olympic View Elementary, EastLake Elementary and EastLake High School—all which enjoy and benefit from the support of residents, educators and the business community.

Much of the financial boost to the neighborhood schools comes from the EastLake Educational Foundation (EEF). Marking its fifth year, the non-profit EEF has raised more than $300,000 for five public schools – the four neighborhood schools and the local middle school. The funds have been used to provide high-tech equipment and services to K-12 classrooms, and to build and equip the EastLake High School Observatory – the only one of its kind on a California high school campus.

The EEF holds several fundraising events each year to generate money for area schools. On Tuesday, Oct. 2, the 6th annual EEF golf tournament will be held at the EastLake Country Club. Major sponsors of the event include Signs & Pinnick, First American Title Company, Stone & Youngbery, LLC, The Jasper Companies, American Golf and The EastLake Company. Play is limited to 144 players. Registration and information is available by calling (619) 421-0127.

Other annual events include the Punt, Pass and Kick competition hosted by the NFL retired players association in January, a gala Silent-Auction dinner theater in March and Cycle EastLake!, the EEF’s most popular fundraiser that will be held on Sunday, April 28.

The EEF’s annual membership drive currently is underway with tax-deductible contribution levels ranging from $25 to $500. For more details, contact eef@eastlakeco.com.

One of the schools benefiting from the EEF is Arroyo Vista Elementary located in EastLake Trails, EastLake’s newest neighborhood.
